Jes煤s Castro-Balbi Named Director of Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music

Ivan Pulinkala, dean of the College of the Arts at 榴莲黄视频, has named Jes煤s Castro-Balbi director of the Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music, effective July 1. The appointment comes at an exciting time for the Bailey School of Music, the recent recipient of a multi-million- dollar gift from the Bobbie Bailey Foundation.

榴莲黄视频 will host a virtual Spring Arts Festival on March 20, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, and one simple reservation will grant you access to all of the activities. Celebrate the Visual Arts An annual community event since 2013, the Festival is made possible with support from KSU鈥檚 College of the Arts, School of Art and Design, Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art (ZMA), and Department of Dance. The Festival offers the chance for art enthusiasts of all ages to partake in visual and performing arts activities with two exhibitions, numerous video workshops and three live-streamed events.

榴莲黄视频鈥檚 Department of Dance will virtually host Israel-based Shaden Dance Company in the three-part, dance-on-camera performance of 鈥淭rilogy.鈥� The production will be streamed for free on ArtsKSU Virtual, on Friday, Feb. 26 and Saturday, Feb. 27, at 8 p.m. A simple reservation is all that is required to watch.

KSU Theatre and Performance Studies to present "Polaroid Stories"

榴莲黄视频 Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) will present Polaroid Stories free of charge via ArtsKSU Virtual, Feb. 16-21. Written by Naomi Iizuka and directed by adjunct professor Pam Joyce, Polaroid Stories is the story of young street kids who find camaraderie, refuge and escape on the edge of a city. The mythic characters from Ovid鈥檚 Metamorphoses, coupled with kids fighting for survival in their urban jungle, create a visceral mash-up and the opportunity for a poignant, yet magical story.

Multi-Million Dollar Gift to Name Bailey School of Music at KSU

榴莲黄视频 has received a $5 million gift from the Bobbie Bailey Foundation to benefit the School of Music in the College of the Arts. This transformative gift, coupled with past philanthropic support from Dr. Bobbie Bailey, Dr. Audrey Morgan and the Bailey Foundation, brings total gifts to KSU of over $11 million.

Writer鈥檚 block? Indecisive? Can鈥檛 remember your lines? Nope, not allowed this weekend. It鈥檚 the 2021 24-Hour Play Festival, produced by the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) at 榴莲黄视频 and live streamed on Saturday, January 23 at 8 p.m. from the Stillwell Theatre through ArtsKSU Virtual. Four student-creator teams鈥攊ncluding a writer, director, stage manager, and performers鈥攚ill grapple with chance and choice to conceive, create and perform their original works in a 24-hour period. It is guaranteed to be a one-of-a-kind adventure for creators and audience alike.

Kennesaw State's Zuckerman Museum of Art to host Faculty Exhibition

A part of 榴莲黄视频鈥檚 School of Art and Design, the Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art (ZMA) will present art from professors in a special Faculty Exhibition, opening January 23 and running through May 9 in the Mortin Gallery. This exhibition spotlights the incredible talent and creativity of the artists who teach full-time in the School of Art and Design (SOAAD). As the United States鈥� largest public art school, SOAAD exemplifies a breadth of expertise in artistic practice equal to that of any major university art school.
