Career and Academic Opportunities

Industries are increasingly reliant on autonomous systems, and AI robotics are used in manufacturing, healthcare, construction, defense, and space exploration. The Mathematics BS provides students with formal training in problem solving, critical and quantitative thinking, and logical argument. Graduates will bring these analytical skills into the MSIRS program and apply them to the study of control of autonomous robotic arms, simulations, the Robot Operating System (ROS), machine learning, and computer vision. With a strong foundation in quantitative reasoning and mathematical modeling, and industry-leading skills in robotics and intelligent systems, graduates of this interdisciplinary program will be prepared to work in the design and implementation of autonomous AI, biomechanical applications, and automation in a variety of industries.
