Making a Path by Walking: Lessons from My Career in Nonprofits
Elizabeth Elango is a professional with over 20 years of experience in international non-profits. Most recently she was CEO of Global Village Project in Decatur. She has spoken passionately about her work on platforms like BBC World, CNBC Africa, The Colbert Report and Forbes Africa. In the course of her career, she has traveled to over 70 countries across the world. She graduated from ÁñÁ«»ÆÊÓƵ in 1997, having attended as an international student from her native Cameroon. In 2014, she was awarded the Madhuri and Jagdish N. Sheth Distinguished Alumni Award for Exceptional Humanitarian and Service Achievement.

Joyette Holmes has served as a Public Defender, an Assistant Prosecutor in the Solicitor and District Attorney’s Offices, was Chief Magistrate Judge, and was District Attorney and a Partner at GDCR Attorneys. Throughout Holmes’ career she has been known for her uncompromising excellence in her representation of the court system. She is a trailblazer in the legal profession, becoming the first African American and woman to serve as Chief Magistrate Judge and District Attorney in Cobb County.
Holmes was named the 2019 Cobb County Citizen of the Year by the Marietta Daily Journal. The Cobb NAACP and the Cobb Ministerial Alliance have each honored her with awards named for United States Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. She also received Community Service Award named for one of her mentors, Robert Benham, was honored by the Cobb Chamber with a Dedication to Service Award, and honored with the Living Legacy Award by the Kennesaw Teen Center.

Prior to that, Michael led his team as a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley. He also served as a Corporate Finance Analyst at Bank of America earlier in his career.

Each year, Radow College conducts a food drive to benefit our students on the Kennsaw campus. All donations are taken to the KSU CARE pantry. Before we take the donations, volunteer teams work together to build structures called “UnCANny Creations” using the donated food items.

Jodi S. Ford, Ph.D. has built a distinguished career in corrections, serving with the Georgia Department of Corrections since 2003. She began as a Probation Officer in Cobb County, transitioned to Facility Operations in 2012, and in 2023, she became Director of Career Technical and Higher Education, driving programs that empower incarcerated individuals through higher education. Ford holds degrees from ÁñÁ«»ÆÊÓƵ, Shorter University, and Liberty University.
